Following the workshop, students are given weeks to:. Teachers who know how to use robotics to teach STEM and have appropriate educational materials can impact students for years. The hands-on workshop is designed to empower teachers enabling them to teach their students how to apply the engineering design process and improve their computational thinking skills as they design, construct and write code to control their robots.
Curriculum is aligned to Next Generation Science and Common Core math standards and provides a framework within which teams can be successful.
Botball Aerial Virtual Botball Academy. Autonomous Robots The robots are always autonomous! Engineering No need for power tools or a machine shop. Incorporate the kit components into other courses such as physics, technology, or computer classes Use individual elements to enhance activities within a class such as a simple machines lesson or data collection around the school Prepare a fall challenge to get students excited about the new season Allow students to check out the kit to do independent projects, science fairs or engineering fairs Encourage students to build showcase robots for the Autonomous Robot Showcase at the Global Conference on Educational Robotics.
Yes, and often the middle school teams win! Every game is structured with multiple scoring objectives, allowing teams to focus on harder goals or simpler solutions. Teams can reuse select kit components to participate at a reduced registration fee.

You simply need the desire to work with students and facilitate their learning. You do not have to be an engineer or computer programmer. Student teams utilize and compete with two autonomous no remote control robots that they designed, built, and programmed. Adults are encouraged to mentor, but are not allowed to work on or program the robots. Payment Deadline All payments must be received in full one week prior to the workshop.
Scholarships will be awarded with priority given to new teams. Awards will be based on competitive evaluation of applications using the following criteria.
