The following diagram shows the dependencies between the modules:. These modules are responsible for capturing the original keyboard events from the Tankstick. Most of the keyboard events are mapped to corresponding game pad events. First of all, the Xarcade Tankstick is identified and opened exlusively by Xarcade2Jstick. Afterwards, two game pads and a keyboard are registered via the uinput module.
Then the main loop is started. It consists of reading the events of the Xarcade device and of mapping the events to the virtual game pads and the keyboard. Xarcade2Jstick looks for an Xarcade device when it is started. That means you need to connect your Xarcade before Xarcade2jstick is started. When using Xarcade2jstick as a service, you could shutdown the RPi, connect the Xarcade and start your Rpi again. Furthermore, it contains a configuration file for the auto-config functionality of RetroArch.
Is anyone able to tell me what the correct hardware configuration into the Pi is? Thank you! Hi PeezieWeezie. Hey PeezieWeezie Why are you talking about a "serial to usb"? The tankstick comes with 2 output cables that can be mapped to usb : one for the trackball, one for the stick and buttons.
Read the wiki Nachtgarm pointed you out. It may happen that even by following the wiki it doesn't work. Then just say, i'll tell. Nachtgarm Thanks for the response. I have read both of those links.
Everything from a software perspective is complete, and the red light is active on the stick, but the stick isn't recognized by the Recalbox. So I'm not sure if it's something with my hardware configuration- that's my question. On one end of the tankstick I have a USB output and a green mouse serial output, and the other end of the stick I have a DB9 and purple keyboard serial output.
Not sure if I'll ever do that, but it's a neat mod either way. I'm currently replacing most of the buttons on my Tankstick with iL convex style ones. Ah, the early days I actually didn't even know emulators existed before discovering BYOAC while looking for megatouch info. Week 1: I gotta build a cab next weekend.
Week 2: Holy crap I'm not ready to build something on the level of what these guys are building, might as well order an x-arcade to use while I learn. Favorite Pinball: Star Trek. I think this applies to the TankStick as well. Quoted from the X-Arcade site. Download the X-Pinball program from there. Unfortunately Visual Pinball and Future Pinball do not have native mouse button support for gameplay.
By creating a custom config file for use with these pinball emulators, we then created an easy to use program that you simply start before playing them.
Download the X-Pinball program. You will first want to open "Preferences, then choose "Keys", then change the left flipper to be number 7, and the right flipper to be number 8. If the X-Pinball program does not work for you, simply make your own config file using the instructions included with AutoHotkey. I have both a dual stick X-Arcade panel and a X-Arcade trackball.
Posted 19 April - PM Of course you would not use 7 and 8. Those numbers are for the trackball that just has one button on each side to get them to work as flippers, Your front 2 side buttons should work out of the box for that.
