Having the Super Bowl games after Thanksgiving means some teams will bench their starters for a rivalry game in hopes of winning a bigger prize.

Taylor then finished the scoring in the first half with a yard touchdown pass to Seiche as the Redhawks led at the break.

On Natick's second drive of the second half, Taylor threw his third touchdown pass, this time to Montas — for his second TD of the day — to put the Redhawks up with left in the third quarter. The lone bright spots for the Flyers was a yard touchdown pass from senior quarterback Cody Coleman to senior Tim Sullivan with left in the game. That and honoring the Super Bowl team at halftime, which beat Acton-Boxborough for the title. He was set to take a job at Digital Equipment Corporation.

His wife, Joan, and their children, Denise, Bill, Doug and Darren were aboard, restless in the back seats. You can imagine his surprise when he saw another guest at the table: the Framingham head coach! In his junior year, Natick ran over the Flyers. While Natick strung back-to-back unbeaten regular seasons, due to a ratings system it was imperative to beat Framingham to elevate chances of playing in Foxborough in December.

After his playing days ended, Darren spent 10 years helping out the Natick High offense. It was an emotional time for the father. He was only pounds. But that was at the beginning. Troy grew bigger and tougher and wound up setting state records for touchdowns and total yardage. Perhaps, through it all, his wildly successful and winding career, this is what sticks to Darren Flutie most of all.
